I am thinking of buying a regular Samsung S24 from my network provider in the U.K. I know Samsung is announcing its new phones at the end of this month. Will the price of the S24 go down after they announce the S25? Should I wait or is it safe to order now? I’ll be paying monthly with a sim.
I’d say you might want to go for the regular S25 instead. Samsung tends to have great deals with new launches, and the S25 will have a Snapdragon processor everywhere, unlike the UK S24 that uses Exynos.

I’ve heard there won’t be a huge difference between the S24 and S25. Is the difference between Snapdragon and Exynos really that big? I have friends with the regular S24 here in the U.K., and they haven’t had any issues.

The only problem is that the modem for cellular networks isn’t very efficient. If you’re often out and about, it’s better to wait for the Snapdragon version. I’ve been using the S24 and it’s a great phone. But, UK carriers don’t usually offer discounts, and they focus a lot on advertising the new models. So, I would suggest going for the S25 as mentioned earlier. If you’re careful, you could buy a used S24 for about half the price of a new one.

If you live in a place with poor service, maybe. But pretending this is a major issue isn’t right.

It’s a real issue. People travel, work on the go, and need to use their phones for things like hotspots when the Wi-Fi is bad. The S24 is great, but I’ve had to charge it up to three times a day when traveling. Sometimes, I even had to switch to 4G or 3G to get by.

For example, my dad has been using the base S21 since October 2021, and for simple tasks, it’s been just fine. Before that, he had the Exynos S7 Edge. It’s not as bad as some people claim. The main difference is that the Snapdragon version performs better in CPU, GPU, camera quality, and battery life. Plus, it runs cooler. Since the S25 is close, it might be a good idea to wait and see the offers. If the price doesn’t feel right, you can always grab the S24 at a discounted price later. You should also check out YouTube videos comparing the Snapdragon and Exynos versions of the S24 before deciding. Lastly, the base S25 will have 12GB of RAM compared to the 8GB in the S24.
If you wait too long, the regular S24 might become hard to find and the only units left will be resold at a higher price, just like what happened with the S23. I think now is a good time to look for deals. A big store near me is selling the S24+ 256GB for 600€ before trade-ins. I don’t think the price will go much lower than this.
