Will Samsung bring back Samsung Internet for PC?

Samsung released a Windows version last year, but it was taken down in April without explanation. Do you think they will reintroduce it? I might switch from Opera GX since I really enjoy using Samsung Internet on my phone and tablet. It makes sense to have it preinstalled on Galaxy Books too.

Sorry for choosing the Galaxy Book flair, but it was the closest option for my post since flair selection is mandatory.

It could happen, but with their current software delays, I wouldn’t count on it. The version from last year was an internal build that wasn’t ready for the public.

I wish they would do it. I love using it on my phone and would really like to have it on my PC too.

I can’t believe I didn’t use it before… It’s incredible. You can really feel the difference.

I’m hopeful too. The fact they released a version on Windows shows it’s possible. I was using Edge on mobile for syncing and sharing tabs between devices, but I switched back to Samsung Internet after discovering Quick Share for sending URLs to my desktop.

If they do release it, I hope it works with all devices, not just Samsung ones. I usually use my Galaxy Book Edge for work, but I also game on a Zephyrus G16 and would like to have it there too.

I’d be okay with it if it worked with password managers. Right now, it only supports Samsung wallet, which isn’t helpful.

I wouldn’t expect a desktop version soon with the poor decisions affecting their mobile browser. I switched to Zen browser on my desktop and Firefox mobile. Both are great, but Firefox mobile doesn’t have keyboard shortcuts for tablets.

@Denim
It works with Bitwarden for me.

Not for long. Bitwarden is removing the accessibility permission and the quick toggle that relies on it.

Can you show a source for that? I use Bitwarden Beta and have the accessibility setting off. It still works fine in Samsung Browser.

I wouldn’t use it even if it could sync. But I do love Samsung Internet on my phone and use it all the time.

What do you like about Samsung Internet that makes you want it on your PC?

Is it mainly bookmarks, reading lists, and history?

I think Samsung is getting ready to replace Samsung Internet with Google Chrome. Since it runs on Chromium, it seems unnecessary, and they are always looking to cut costs to increase profits.

That would be a bad move. Samsung Internet is better optimized and has more features than Chrome can offer for Android.

@Shan
I like using it on my tablet and with Dex. But a lot of people just stick with Chrome. Samsung might end up cutting it like they did with Samsung Messages, switching to Google Messages.

I think it’s pointless and a waste of resources.

I don’t use Samsung Internet on mobile, but I understand the appeal if you want a Chromium-based browser that supports extensions. I have it installed but use it very rarely.

What specific features do you want on PC? If it’s just syncing, they could just release an extension for Chrome or Edge.

@Ren
I like the aesthetics, features, and the overall user experience on PC.

@Ren
Do you know how to get the extension to work? Both on Edge and Chrome, when I log in, it says the domain is for sale.
