Why is my Galaxy S20 Ultra acting up so bad?

So, I’m dealing with a pretty frustrating issue right now. My Galaxy S20 Ultra has suddenly become almost unusable. The screen lags like crazy and barely responds when I try to unlock it. Sometimes, I’ll try to enter my PIN, and it just doesn’t register at all. When it does, it takes so long that the screen times out and goes black, forcing me to start all over again.

It doesn’t stop there, though. After finally getting it unlocked, the phone just freezes up. Apps take forever to open, and sometimes it starts doing its own thing, like opening random apps I didn’t even touch. Then, out of nowhere, green lines flash across the screen, and the phone powers off. After that, it refuses to turn on for 10 minutes or longer.

I’ve tried restarting it when I could, but it didn’t help. I looked for weird apps that might be causing the issue, but I didn’t find anything suspicious. I can’t even boot it into safe mode. When I try, it keeps turning itself on and off repeatedly.

I don’t really know what to do at this point. Can someone help me figure out what might be causing all this? Any advice would be really appreciated.

Honestly, your best bet is to back up your data with Smart Switch on your computer and do a factory reset. It sounds like your phone might be on its last legs, though.

I don’t know how I’d even do a factory reset since my phone won’t turn on anymore. And I’ve never used Smart Switch before. Any tips?

You mentioned it turns on after 10 minutes, so when it does, try using Google One, Google Drive, or Samsung Cloud to back up. If you have a memory card, you could manually save your data there too.

@Lane
Nope, it hasn’t turned back on at all this time. Completely dead now.
