I’ve had my Galaxy S24 for about a month after using my old S10+ for five years. But the battery seems to drain as fast as my old one did! It was at 100% at 7:20 am and by 8:30 it was down to 73%.
I have Bluetooth on for my buds and watch, along with 4G, but that’s about it. I even have power-saving mode on, but I’m still needing to charge it during the day just to avoid going home with a dead battery.
A friend of mine has the new Flip, and her battery lasts way longer while using TikTok and other apps. Is it just me, or does anyone else have this issue? If I plan to keep this phone for years, I don’t want it to get even worse over time!
The S10+ you had is more like the S24 Ultra in terms of name and battery size. I’d suggest the S24 Ultra or S24 Plus since the regular S24 only has a 4000 mAh battery, not 5000 mAh like the larger ones.

Honestly, bigger battery doesn’t really solve Samsung’s issues. Even if they put in a 7000 mAh battery, their software still has battery problems. I’ve been using the S22 Ultra for over two years, and it’s so inconsistent with battery life. I’m pretty much done with Samsung after this.

I get what you’re saying. After a year, the battery just isn’t what it used to be. But do you think it’s any different with Apple?
I’m a big Android fan, so I’ve stuck with Android for nine years now and don’t really want to switch to iOS since it feels too plain to me. I’m actually thinking about switching to a Pixel next. I’d do it now if it weren’t for the fact that the latest Pixels also use Samsung’s chips. Once they switch to Snapdragon, I’m definitely getting one.
I’ve been using the S22 Ultra for more than two years now, and I had battery issues from day one. Samsung’s software just doesn’t seem to improve, and it’s getting worse over time. I actually wrote an article about it recently, explaining how the same battery problems Samsung had years ago are still here today. Honestly, the battery seems to be the weakest part of Samsung phones, mostly because of the software.
