Why did my phone's swipe gestures stop working after the update?

I’ve been using swipe gestures for about 4 years and I love it. My phone updated while I was sleeping and now it’s not the same. I woke up to seeing home buttons and everything. When I tried switching it back to swipe gestures, I couldn’t swipe up from the bottom right to go back or swipe up from the bottom left to switch between apps. I don’t even know how to switch between apps now. I’m so frustrated right now.

Welcome to one ui 6.1.1 hehe

The setting moved to Good Lock > NavStar > Enable Extra Gesture Settings. After that, open your phone’s navigation settings and you’ll be able to use the gestures again.

Here we go again…

If it switched to the other swipe gestures, you can swipe up from the middle and hold for a second to bring up the app switcher. To go back in an app, swipe from the left or right of the screen. OneUI 6.1 removed the gestures you were using (not sure why). I use one hand operation + through Good Lock. With that, I can swipe up from the left or right to switch apps, and swipe down to bring down the notification panel. It’s a decent alternative and might help.

Check out r/samsung. If the sourpuss is right, he’s told you what to search for.

And? You didn’t link to anything either, so I guess you’re just in a bad mood. If you can’t say something nice, don’t complain? Boooo!

@Dior
Also, you didn’t link anything either.

Also, you didn’t link anything either! Why haven’t you?

Because the OP can find it themselves. I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy.

@Brogan
I don’t think hypocrisy means what you think it means.

@Dior
You won’t get help with an attitude like that. The keywords are “navigation” and “oneui 6.1”.

Every time I’ve needed help with my Samsung settings, I just go to settings, and Samsung helps me.

Feels more like the 100,000th post!

People rarely search before asking.

Had no idea this was a common problem, I’ll have to suffer through this until I get home from work. This made me late this morning, RIP. Thanks for the info though!!!

Update: I figured it out, but whoever decided to remove that feature should be maimed. Why change it? It was perfect the way it was…

@Corin
I didn’t even know anyone used those gestures. Have you tried the “new” (they’ve been there for like 5 years) gestures? They’re actually better, the animations follow your finger and everything is faster. Why not use them?

You might have to go back into settings and change the swipe gestures back to what you used to use unless they removed it with the update? Personally, I use swipe gestures but with the other style where I swipe from both sides to go back and swipe up to go home. It’s very iPhone-like since all my friends use iPhones.
