I’m planning to buy an S24 just after Christmas in January. But I’ve read that the S25 might be coming out around the end of January.
Is the S24 still a good choice, or should I wait?
The main thing holding me back is that in the UK, we get the Exynos 2400 chip in the base model, and I’d much prefer the Snapdragon. I’ve heard the Exynos 2400 has bad battery life and performance. Anyone using the Exynos version who can share their experience?

I heard the S25 might have Snapdragon for every region, just like they did with the S23.
Yeah, and the Snapdragon Elite chip is supposed to be a big upgrade for performance and battery life. I held off on buying because the Black Friday sales were tempting, but it seems worth waiting.
@Parker
The Snapdragon 8 Elite has an NPU for AI stuff like local upscaling and video editing. It’s pretty cool, but a lot depends on how Samsung uses it.
I almost bought the S24 during the sales, but this processor makes waiting for the S25 feel like the smarter choice.
@Ashby
The battery’s decent—about 8 hours of screen-on time with Wi-Fi and around 6.5 hours with a mix of Wi-Fi and mobile data. It doesn’t get hot during regular use.
@Valen
If it’s only a few weeks until the S25 announcement, I’d wait. Samsung usually offers deals for those who pre-register for the new model, and even if you still want the S24, prices on older models tend to drop after new ones are announced.
Check Samsung’s website and your carrier for the best offers. Sometimes they bundle trade-in deals or financing incentives.
For everyday use, the Exynos performs just fine. Heavy usage is where it lags behind Snapdragon—higher temperatures, quicker throttling, and shorter battery life. But for casual use, it won’t matter much.
