Should I Switch to S23 or Stick with the iPhone?

Hey everyone,

I left my S21 behind and got an iPhone 14, but now I’m realizing I miss using things like YouTube Premium crack and backing up my photos directly to my hard drive. With the iPhone, I feel stuck paying for YouTube Premium and iCloud. Thinking about selling the iPhone 14 and going for the S23 instead.

If I sell my iPhone, I’d still have around $500 after getting the S23. What do you all think? Worth the switch?

Well, you’re asking on this forum, so you can guess most people here are going to say yes!

Definitely go for it. The iPhone 14 wasn’t much of an upgrade from the iPhone 13 and doesn’t really stand out against the other choices out there.

I have the regular S23. Came from an S21+, so similar switch here, and I think there’s no better small phone right now. I’d say go for it!

If you can get close to the S24 price, I’d suggest going for that, but if there’s a big price gap, stick with the S23.

In my country, the S24 is sold with the Exynos chip, and there are reports of overheating, bugs, and not-so-great camera performance.

@Nari
Oh, if that’s the case, avoid it unless it’s the Snapdragon version. Good luck!

@Nari
Where did you see those reports? Most reviews I’ve seen say the S24 Exynos is fine. If you can stretch to afford it, maybe it’s still worth considering.

Are people really still having issues with Exynos?

@Kiran
Some just have a bias against it. Exynos 2400 actually performs pretty well, similar to the A55’s 1480.

You could back up your iPhone data to your computer if that’s an option you’d consider.

How would I do that?

Check these guides:

Mac

Windows

Apple products have a way of locking you into their pricey ecosystem. You either commit fully or leave while you still can!

You can use a laptop to transfer pictures and videos from the iPhone 14, and for YouTube, try Brave browser instead of the app.

The S24 price might drop when the S25 releases next January, so maybe wait if you can.

Seems like a no-brainer to me!

Honestly, I’d say no. I bought the S23 Ultra, and it’s been a letdown. I had major problems, and Samsung’s customer service was awful. Had to pay $1500 just for repairs, and they didn’t even have replacement options!

@Shai
Wow, what happened with your S23 Ultra?

I got it a year ago, but three weeks back, it overheated and killed the main board, sub-board, screen, and battery. I tried the service center, but they couldn’t even check it properly. They said they had no replacements available and suggested the ‘5-day door-to-door service,’ which took forever to get going. I had to drive it an hour away myself, and it’s been sitting in repair for six days now, with an estimated cost of $1047.14. Everyone I know who got the Ultra has faced similar screen or board issues. Easily the least reliable phone I’ve ever had.
