Samsung Wallet or Bitwarden? Which One's Best for You?

Hey everyone! I’m new to Samsung (I’ve got the S24) and I’m trying to figure out which password manager is best. I’m completely new to this, and I used to keep all my passwords in notes. Besides privacy and security worries (it’s hard to trust any service completely), the only thing I know so far is that Bitwarden works on any device, which means I wouldn’t be tied to just my Samsung. But Samsung Wallet integrates perfectly with my phone, which is great for usability. If I lose my phone, though, I’ll lose my passwords unless I reset or wipe data remotely, right? Or is there some feature I’m missing? I’d love to hear what you all think and what you use!

For me, Bitwarden is a clear choice because of how well it works across devices. Samsung’s software is decent but doesn’t sync well outside of their own ecosystem—especially when you’re trying to use Microsoft services. It often feels incomplete or doesn’t work well.

You’re right, I use Bitwarden too for the cross-device access.

I use Bitwarden, and it works well overall. It’s great because I use both Android and Apple devices, so having everything in one place is a huge win for me.

Bitwarden is great for compatibility across devices.

I prefer Bitwarden. I don’t want to be locked into a system that only works with one brand of device.

I use Proton Pass.

If you use Chrome on your PC, Google Password Manager is really easy to use. It syncs with your browser and apps. But since I switched to Firefox, I’m using Bitwarden and it’s working great. You can set it up to pop up with biometrics and be available from your keyboard. Samsung Wallet doesn’t sync well though, so I wouldn’t recommend it.

I still use Samsung Pass for now, but I use Google Wallet for payments.

I started using Samsung’s passkey service but still use Bitwarden for regular passwords. Not sure if I’m locking myself into the Samsung ecosystem too much with the passkey service, though.

I use 1Password. It’s paid, but I think it’s totally worth it, and it’s definitely better than Bitwarden.

Samsung Wallet is hard to beat if you’re sticking to Samsung devices. It syncs really well across all of them, including upgrades.

I’ve tried Google Password Manager, Dashlane, Proton Pass, and Bitwarden. I’m sticking with Bitwarden because it’s simple, effective, and only $10 a year.

I use Samsung Pass because it’s more convenient with the Samsung Internet browser. Bitwarden is great if you need it on multiple devices like a PC, laptop, or iOS.

Bitwarden is fantastic because you can store your authenticator codes with your passwords. Once you log in to a site, it’ll copy the TOTP code for you, and you don’t have to open another app. It also supports passkeys. I use both Bitwarden and Proton Pass for backups, in case something happens. Samsung Wallet/Pass isn’t ideal for syncing between devices after a reset, and the import/export process is tricky. Plus, Samsung’s autofill doesn’t work well with many login fields, leaving you with extra steps. And you can’t use Samsung Wallet or Pass without a Samsung device, which might be limiting if you switch phones later.

I tried Bitwarden, but it didn’t work too well for me. Google Password Manager is better for me, but I’m not 100% sure about their privacy.

I like that Google checks for potential password leaks. I don’t think Bitwarden does that.
