I bought a Samsung Galaxy S23 about a year ago, and while it’s a great phone, the battery is terrible. Even with Ram Plus off and battery saver on, I only get around 3 hours of screen time. As a student who uses the phone a lot, this is really bad. What can I do to fix this?
P.S. I mostly do basic tasks, nothing too heavy. I also factory reset it about 2 months ago…

Is this a problem on all phones?
Not all phones, but most I’ve used have had weaker batteries after a year. I’ve tried:
A51
A20
A32
A30s
M54
A55
They all still work fine, but that’s because they’re new.

Yeah, most Android phones with 5000mAh or less have poor battery life. Every new Android version uses more battery, and the 120Hz displays plus powerful processors drain it faster. Many Chinese phones have started using larger batteries, but Samsung still relies on software to optimize it. Even the upcoming S25 series will likely have the same battery, while the compact Xiaomi 15 has a 5400mAh battery compared to Samsung’s 5000mAh.
You can either sell it and get a mid-range phone with better battery and faster charging or replace the battery if you want to keep it. If you have battery saver on and still only get 3 hours, there’s nothing more you can do with software.
Maybe just replace the battery? I’m using a 5-year-old Note 10 and after replacing the battery, it now lasts about 8 hours on WiFi and 6 hours on LTE.
Before the battery change, I could barely get 2 hours of use.
