Samsung Care Plus... Why is it such a nightmare?

I’ve been using Samsung for years, and I’ve always loved their phones. Over the last 10+ years, they’ve been my go-to. I even liked the insurance they offered… until about 4 years ago. I had a Note phone that needed replacing, and at first, everything went smoothly. Then I ran into issues with the replacement. Apparently, it was still linked to the previous owner’s account. Because of that, Care Plus refused to fix it, even though it was registered under my account. After a long process, they finally moved it over to my account, but since then, every time I’ve needed a phone replaced, it’s been a huge hassle. Now, with my Fold 5, I’m facing similar problems. The phone is linked to my Samsung account, but Care Plus says it’s not on my device list. They told me I was past due on payments, but when I was transferred to payments, they said my account was up to date, and my next payment was already being processed. I was transferred back to claims, and they told me they wouldn’t fix the phone until it showed up on my device list. So, they asked me to send a screenshot of my device list. And to top it off, the phone service is so bad that I can hardly understand them because of static, and they blamed it on me. I’m stuck in this loop and it’s driving me crazy. Anyone else having these same issues with Care Plus?

I signed up for it once. But then I found out Samsung doesn’t actually provide the coverage. I tried to cancel, but the only way to do it was to call them. I decided right then I’ll never buy insurance through Samsung again.

It’s like they hired the most incompetent people for Care Plus. Whoever is at the bottom of the barrel seems to get picked for this service. What’s crazy is how hard Samsung is trying to beat Apple, but Apple Care is like a luxury service compared to Samsung Care Plus. It’s like comparing a Rolls Royce to a burning Ford Focus.

I don’t even need to read all that. Samsung customer service is terrible, end of story.

I can’t speak to Care Plus, but dealing with Samsung in general is such a hassle. They really don’t care about customers and never listen to feedback. I just wish I didn’t rely on their apps so much, their customer service is so bad.

I was on Care Plus when I first bought the Fold. I can’t even remember what my issue was, but I called and got the runaround. Eventually, the rep told me it’s all the same support, it’s just a different number you call if you want faster service (if the lines aren’t too busy). So, yeah, not much special about Care Plus.

I remember when they had great customer service. I think things started to go downhill when Servify took over the insurance program. I wasn’t happy about it, but I didn’t have to deal with them often, so I kept forgetting how bad they were.

Samsung has the worst customer service. I say this as someone who has owned every S and Z fold that’s come out.
