S24 256gb for 650 USD or wait for S25?

The online-exclusive S24 is currently 20% off, plus an additional 5% discount through the Samsung Shop app, bringing the price down to 884 CAD (650 USD). Should I buy it now or wait for the S25, which is rumored to release early next year?

My phone history includes the Galaxy A5 (2017-2022) and Galaxy A13 5G (2022-present). I’m looking for a phone that will last longer since my current one has become slow and sluggish after just two years.

Which S24 are you talking about? The basic one, Plus, or Ultra?

If it’s the Plus or Ultra, I’d go for the S24. If it’s the base model, I’d wait.

My last phone was the S23+ with 512GB to store all my music, mostly in FLAC format, and I’m currently using 366GB (some FLAC files have been converted to MP3 for the less important tracks), so I needed the 512GB. If you don’t require that much space, the 256GB should suffice. If you need a phone right now, the S25 is about four months away, and you probably won’t find a similar discount on it unless you trade in a better model.

If I were in your position and my phone was frustratingly slow, I’d take advantage of that price.

I would go for the S24 with 512GB. It’s significantly better than what you’ve had.

That’s a great price for that version with the faster storage speed. If satellite connectivity is important to you, it might be worth waiting for the S25.

The S25 and S25+ are rumored to use the Dimensity chip, which isn’t great, but it might still be better than Exynos. If the S24 in your country has the Snapdragon processor, go for it. Otherwise, consider the S23.
