Yeah, that makes sense. The good thing is that the back panel will be easier to get off now

If you’re doing the repair yourself, make sure to turn off the phone. Use a hairdryer to warm up the glue on the back so it doesn’t break. Replace the battery since Samsung phones are pretty easy to fix, then reheat the glue and put the back on or use a new waterproof seal. And for goodness sake, clean those lenses!

I just want to add something obvious here. That battery might be pretty fragile. Be careful with that hairdryer method too. If you can, do it on a metal surface or a tray.

Great tip. I doubt I’ll need too much heat since the back panel is about to come off anyway.

You will need some heat to loosen the glue at the top and bottom. If you pry too hard, you could end up with no back glass at all.
There’s no free battery replacement. But it’s usually cheaper to go to a reliable third-party shop than to Samsung themselves.
