Is the Exynos chip in the S24 better than S23 Snapdragon?

Hi all,
I’m upgrading from my iPhone XR and want to switch to Android for a 120Hz screen without spending a lot on an iPhone Pro.

I like Samsung’s design. Right now, the S24 is about €120 more than a second-hand S23, but the S24 has the Exynos chipset while the S23 has Snapdragon. Is the S24 worth it if I plan to keep the phone for four years?

Thanks!

Many people dislike Exynos because the Exynos 2200 in the S22 performed worse than the already mediocre Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

This year, benchmarks indicate that the Exynos 2400 is slightly more powerful than last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is impressive, though battery life is somewhat worse, yet not nearly as bad as the Exynos 2200. Overall, the differences aren’t significant this year.

Look for reviews to confirm that the S23 and S24 are very similar.

I’m really happy with my S23, which I bought at launch, and I have no plans to change it anytime soon.

It’s actually a bit better than the Gen 2, but if you’re not looking for something too high-end and just want a reliable phone for everyday use, the S23 is a better value for its price.

Hello my samsung family member the snapdragon chip set is far better then the exynos chip set the snapdragon makes the device run very smooth and it doesn’t over heat like the exynos and it’s just a far more superior chip so if you’re thinking about buying a device snapdragon all the way.

In everyday use, the Exynos is faster (less waiting and lag), though it’s not as well optimized for gaming. However, the battery life will be about 10% less than the Snapdragon S23 due to the Exynos S24 having a less efficient modem.

Overall, if you have Wi-Fi at home and want better software support, consider buying the S24.

I would also say, if you can get an S23 Ultra with the larger storage size and full 12 gb of ram, you’ll appreciate the additional ram more than the newer processer.
