Did it fall or get hit? Looks like it might be toast.

Yeah, I thought so too… it’s wall-mounted, and I wondered if he bumped it, but he says he hasn’t even been near it. So… who knows. lol
Thanks for agreeing with me about needing a new one.
Looks like it’s done for. Feels like it got physically damaged.

Maybe an Oilers fan?
Wall mounts can cause issues like this over time with some TVs. Mine are all mounted, but I had one that just hung there and it happened too.

Interesting. Appreciate the info.
Just get a new TV, fixing it will cost too much.
Is your dad a sports fan?
Did his team blow a game and make him throw something at the TV?

He’s a Yankees fan, why do you ask? /s
lol
Looks like someone tapped it at the top.
RIP. Yep.
Looks like what happened after I punched my TV in VR lol
The LCD panel is shot and needs a replacement. I’ve replaced many LCD panels in laptops, and this always looks like the start. You could HDMI to an external monitor to check if it’s the screen, but not sure if that’s possible with his TV.
@Hale
Thanks for that. I’m not sure if it has an output, but I think the panel is dead too. I bet replacing the panel costs more than a new TV. I think he’s already planning a trip to Costco.
It definitely got hit.
It’s a goner.
