I forgot my Samsung charger at my friend’s place and can’t get it back until next week. I have a Motorola 68W PD charger. Is it alright to use it for a week? My phone supports PD charging, and it even charges faster than my Samsung one. The battery life seems to be better too.
That’s one of the main benefits of the PD standard – chargers are interchangeable without much risk of damaging your device.
Yes, your phone will detect whatever USB-C is plugged in and adjust accordingly.
It’s completely safe. Your phone communicates with the charger and will only draw what it needs.
Yeah, modern phones and PD chargers have lots of built-in protection features.
Can you plug it in? Yes. Will it charge? Yes. Will it Quick Charge? Yes. But, will Samsung use it against you for warranty? Probably… that’s a different story.

They can’t do that. USB-C and charging standards are made to let you use any charger. However, it might not support fast charging 2.0, as that requires a PPS charger, and those are rare.
@Teal
My Motorola charger does support 2.0 fast charging.

That means your charger likely has PPS and probably supports 3A or more.

They can’t legally deny warranty in most places. For example, phones sold in the EU or China have to charge on any USB PD charger. If they want to meet legal requirements, they can’t void warranties for this.
