I’ve been thinking about upgrading from my Note 10 Plus to something like the S24 Ultra but ended up not doing it. Honestly, I don’t feel like I’m missing out. My phone still runs great, and the battery is amazing. Sometimes I forget to charge it at night and wake up with 70-80%, and it still lasts all day. I don’t remember the last time my phone actually died on me. Fast charging is enough for me too.
The camera upgrades don’t matter much to me, and while a brighter screen or higher refresh rate might be nice, I can’t justify spending over $700 just for those features. Sure, I can’t play some newer games, but that’s not worth the cost to me. The 1440p screen still looks sharp, and I love having the microSD slot. Phones these days don’t feel like they’ve changed enough to make me want to upgrade. I’m curious—does anyone else feel the same way about holding onto their old phones?
It’s nice to see someone sticking with a phone that works for them instead of upgrading just because of marketing hype. I’m still using an S9. Most of what I do is watch YouTube and browse forums. My battery life isn’t great, maybe 2-3 hours of screen time, but I just charge it during the day. Honestly, I don’t see much difference in speed when I compare it to newer phones in tests. If I could replace the battery easily, I’d keep using it.
@Morgan
You could buy a replacement battery online for around $20. It’s pretty easy to replace, or you could pay a little to have someone do it for you.
I was using an A8 from 2018 until just yesterday. I switched to the S24+ and wow, the difference is huge. I was so used to waiting 15 seconds for apps to open! Also, moving from a 32GB phone to 512GB feels unreal.
I think it’s amazing that your phone still feels good after all these years. I tend to want to upgrade every couple of years, but when the time comes, something always pops up, and I end up holding off.
I’ve got a Note 10+, and even though I think about upgrading, I just can’t justify it. It still works perfectly, and I’m pretty attached to it. It’s like an old friend I don’t want to let go of.

I totally get that. I had to defend my choice of buying a top-end phone back then, but here we are six years later, and it’s still holding strong.
I’m using an S10+, and while I didn’t plan on upgrading, my battery life is getting bad, and I dropped it last week, which made the screen pretty unresponsive. I’m sad about losing the headphone jack since I use it all the time, but I’m getting ready for the S25 by buying adapters.
I held onto my Note 9 for ages, but I finally upgraded during a Black Friday deal. It still looked and worked great, but I was stuck on Android 11 and didn’t feel safe using it for payments anymore. The trade-in deal was too good to pass up, though.
My mom and brother both have Note 10s and still love them. They’ve been all over the world with those phones. Meanwhile, my dad’s Flip 3 has needed three screen replacements already.
