I just bought a wireless charger for my phone. Before, I would just plug my phone in and put it face down, so it was perfectly dark at night. Now, not so much.
I have a Samsung case with a small window, and the charging status is super bright in a dark room. If I open the case, it’s a bit dimmer, but there’s still a little bit of light. Am I the only one who really wants a completely dark bedroom to sleep in? More importantly, is there any way to make my phone stop showing anything when it’s charging?
I have “show charging information” turned off, but it still shows charging info! What does that setting even do?
I have a Note 23 Ultra, Android 14, One UI 6.1.
If this isn’t the right forum for this, can someone point me to a better place to post?
Check out Modes and Routines. You can create a routine that triggers when the phone’s charging at night. You could have it turn on extra dim and turn off AOD. It’ll go back to normal settings in the morning. You can find Modes and Routines in your settings.
I recommend checking it out fully because you can set triggers like opening certain apps, connecting to devices, or even arriving at places like home or work. Modes only let one condition be active at a time, but Routines let multiple run at the same time, which is pretty useful.
If it’s that big of a deal, just put a sock or a piece of paper over your phone. I wouldn’t use something too thick, though, because that could overheat your phone.

That’s not really a solution to my issue, but thanks anyway!
I used to have this problem with my S21. I’d put the phone down and then just place the wireless charger on top. It wasn’t perfect, but it helped a little. Maybe that could work for you too.
