The store refused to replace it because the phone won’t fold flat anymore.

I really want a foldable phone, but I haven’t bought one because of issues like this. For such an expensive device with unproven longevity, I want a solid warranty that covers everything, including accidental damage, for at least two years. I’ll only buy one if I hit the lottery, haha! But I’m definitely interested in the latest foldable models if they ever improve. Video Link
I know a couple of people who took their phones to uBreakiFix for warranty work, and the phones came back with even more issues than before. One guy’s IMEI got changed during a screen replacement, and his phone became a paperweight.
This is why you should get AppleCare or a similar plan. I’ve had no issues getting repairs even with physical damage on my phone.
Not saying they’re right, but if they can’t fix it, then that’s the end of it. Apple does the same thing with some of their devices. I had an iPad with minor damage and they gave me a similar response. I can understand with foldables though, since they have specialized components.
@Grayer
They can fix it. If I had damaged it badly, like breaking the glass, they would’ve replaced it under warranty. But because the issue is with a small bezel, they refused to fix it.

I get it, but it seems like you’re speculating. Do you know exactly how the parts in your phone work? Probably not. If the damage is minor, they might just not be able to fix it.
@Grayer
Honestly, it seems like you’re being a bit overdramatic. It’s just a small cosmetic issue that doesn’t affect how the phone works. Would you send your iPhone in for minor scratches? Think about it.
This is exactly why I went with iPhone. Apple support has always been fantastic for me.
