Galaxy Watch users… what made you pick it and are you happy?

I’m thinking about getting a Galaxy Watch (probably a 7, maybe a refurbished one). For those of you who have one, what features do you like the most? What are the biggest issues? For reference, I have an S24U and I’m not planning to change phones anytime soon. Would love to hear your thoughts!

For me, it’s mostly about being able to check notifications without needing to pull my phone out.

Exactly! My days are pretty hectic, and having my watch to quickly glance at notifications makes things easier. I can prioritize what’s important and ignore the rest without even touching my phone.

@Noor
Same here. The only downside is that people sometimes think I’m checking the time, which can be awkward!

Appreciate the reply!

Thanks for sharing!

I love how it lets me reply to messages or answer calls without needing my phone. I also used it for step tracking, but that’s more of a bonus for me. If you’ve got a Samsung flagship, you can even control your camera with it, which is great for group pictures. I’m currently using the Watch 6 after trading in my Active 2 last year. If you decide to get one, I recommend the larger version for better battery life.

@Farley
Thank you for the advice!

It’s great for discreetly checking notifications without pulling out my phone. I’ve been really happy with mine. I started with the Gear S3, then moved to the Watch 4, and now the Watch 6. It’s a shame that newer models are feeling more like Apple designs though.

I use it for notifications, weather, navigation, music control, and fitness tracking like heart rate, blood pressure, and sleep.

I got the Watch 6 mainly for notifications and Samsung Health integration. I’m happy with it, but not fully satisfied. The UI has noticeable lags, but that’s less of an issue on the 7 due to better hardware. Hoping the next software update improves things. Overall, it’s good but can be frustrating sometimes.

I’m on the road a lot, so the watch helps me with calls and texts without using my phone. I also love the pedometer, sleep tracking, and heart rate monitoring. It keeps me in check with my fitness goals.

It fits perfectly with all my Samsung devices.

I switched from an iPhone/Apple Watch to the S24U and Galaxy Watch 7. I prefer the circular design, but I’m not a fan of the strap it came with. The battery life is much better compared to the Apple Watch. I can go up to 3 days without charging (AOD and Google Assistant are off). It’s super handy for checking notifications while working out.

I mainly use it for navigation and calls within my Samsung setup. My biggest complaint is the short battery life. They really need to make the Galaxy Watch Ultra last at least a week instead of just 2-3 days.

I have the Watch 6 Classic LTE. It’s good overall, though it feels sluggish sometimes. I really like the rotating bezel for navigation. Plus, the eSIM works well with Spotify, so I can leave my phone behind when I go running.

I chose it because I wanted WearOS and already had a Samsung phone. If WearOS allowed square designs, I’d have gone with that instead. Battery life isn’t great, but it’s the best option for what I need. I’m currently using the Watch 6 Classic 47mm. It works, but there are some drawbacks.

I love the step counter and Strava for tracking workouts. But honestly, it’s more about being able to check texts or calls without grabbing my phone. I tried the cellular version but realized I always have my phone on me, so it wasn’t worth the extra cost.

If you’re considering one, look at the Watch 5 Pro for its bigger battery. I’ve been using Samsung watches for years, and the 5 Pro has been a favorite. It lasts a long time even with GPS and Always On Display. Features like navigation during cycling, fitness tracking, and sleep analysis make it super useful.

I’ve been using Samsung watches since the Gear S. They’re convenient, versatile, and fit perfectly with my Samsung phones. I’m now on the Watch 5 Pro paired with an S24+, and it’s been great.
