So I asked Bixby when International Men’s Day is, and she just kind of shrugged (well, metaphorically). But when I asked about International Women’s Day, she was all set with the exact date and time. It’s funny because if the situation were reversed, I’m sure the internet would lose its mind. Strange, right?
Bruh, it’s like asking Google “Why is my wife mad?” vs “Why is my husband mad?”. For the wife, it gives reasons, but for the husband, it just shows a help number.

And you get why, right? Still, not really a double standard.
@Teo
It totally is a double standard. Men can yell without getting violent, and they do 99% of the time.

Women face domestic violence more often and worse than men. Men do experience it, but not nearly as often. This has to do with power imbalances and other systemic issues. Although it points to a double standard, focusing on women’s safety here seems reasonable because of how often and severely they’re affected.
@Bennet
In the Balkans, women beat you.
@Teo
That is a double standard. Your comment suggests women can’t cause harm, which is wrong.
To be honest, Bixby is more like the home assistant, not your grocery runner like Google. It’s not great with internet stuff. On the flip side, Google isn’t great at in-house tasks like hands-free controls, but it’s great at pulling information from the web.
It’s kind of sad. Double standards aren’t really funny, but I get your point.

Fair point—double standards aren’t funny. But I just thought it was funny that Bixby could handle more complex stuff but couldn’t find such simple info.
@Gray
Bixby is an assistant, not AI. It’s not meant to perform research or answer deep questions. It’s really just for tasks.

Where’s the double standard? If you asked me, I’d give the same answer. Some things are well-known, others aren’t. It’s not about gender, it’s about popularity.
@Teo
If you don’t see it, no explanation will change that.

If there’s a double standard, it’s because society knows one but not the other. The AI is just reflecting that, not causing it.
@Teo
Since when did AI just reflect what’s popular in society? I ask AI about obscure stuff all the time and it gives me answers. If it didn’t know about Men’s Day, that’s normal, it’s just not common knowledge.
@Davin
What obscure topics has Bixby given you decent answers about? I bet you can’t name one. Bixby is terrible with niche topics, no matter the gender.

You said AI in general, not Bixby. I didn’t understand that you were talking about Bixby specifically.
@Davin
I was talking about Bixby, not all AI. When I say ‘AI’, I meant ‘the AI in Bixby’. Bixby isn’t even close to an LLM. It’s more of a task manager, not a researcher.
