What’s the best phone to replace the 2019 S10e?

Try GSMArena’s search tool. I filtered for phones from 2020 onward with a 6.5" screen, SD slot, and headphone jack. It found over 1,200 devices: Phone Finder results - GSMArena.com

You can tweak the filters further.

The person who posted this wants something under 6 inches, with a headphone jack, SD slot, and good performance—all for a budget price. That combo doesn’t exist.

Older Xperia models fit the bill, but nothing current does at that price.

Still using my S10e—refurbished all the way.

Micro USB in 2024? Even cheap gadgets now use USB-C. Headphone jacks are gone too. Hold on to your S10e as long as you can because your next phone will have compromises.

I meant microSD for storage. My bad for the mix-up.

Got it. The Samsung A series is your best bet for SD cards. How big is your current SD card, and what do you need it for? Many phones now offer up to 1TB of internal storage.

The S24 base model could work. Compact, powerful, great display, and good cameras. You could use an adapter for headphones and get 256GB or 512GB for storage.

Your best options are the Galaxy S23/S24, Pixel 9, or iPhone 15/16. Maybe look at Zenfones, but they’ve gotten bigger recently.

Zenfone 11 isn’t small. Older models were, though.

If you want good build quality and features like NFC, SD card slots, and headphone jacks, look at the Xperia 10 VI. Other options are low-end rugged phones, but that’s about it.

Check out the S20 FE 5G on Amazon.

You feel the performance drop because you went from a flagship to a low-budget phone. Consider Samsung’s FE lineup like the S20 FE or S23 FE. The S24 FE is bigger, but still worth looking at. For your specific requirements, maybe check out the LG V60 or base models of the S22/S23.

I’m in the same boat. My S10e (Snapdragon model) is amazing—great size, performance, and features like DeX, microSD, and headphone jack. But no updates and no bootloader unlock is a downside.

I’ve looked into the S23/S24, Zenfone 9/10, Pixel 8/8 Pro, and Xperia 5. All are bigger than the S10e and have fewer features, especially no SD slot or headphone jack.

The best option might be another S10e with a new battery and a strong case. You could also check Swappa for refurbished phones.
