I’m curious to know what modes and routines everyone uses on their Samsung phones. What do they do for you? I’m looking for some ideas to set up routines on my own phone. Thanks in advance!
I have a routine that turns on NFC when I open Google Wallet and turns it off when I close it.

I have a couple of routines where I can switch my phone from Wi-Fi to data and back with just one button press.

How did you set that up? Can you explain which button you used for this?
I set up my phone to turn on Battery protection to the max when I’m on my home Wi-Fi, and to the basic setting when I’m not on home Wi-Fi.

Could you explain how this helps?
@Merlin
It helps extend the lifespan of the battery. When I’m at home, my phone will only charge to 80%, but once I leave, it will charge to 100%.

I think I understand now.
I have a routine where I turn off the internet when opening certain apps. If I need the internet, I can turn it on from the quick panel, and it will go back to the previous setting when I close the app.
When my phone connects to my car’s Bluetooth, Wi-Fi is turned off and data is turned on. Also, when I open Google Maps, data automatically turns on.
I have two routines: one turns off Wi-Fi when I leave my home zone, and the other turns off mobile data when I connect to my home Wi-Fi.
I’m trying to read more, so I set a routine that dims the screen and turns on Do Not Disturb when I’m in the Play Books app. On my Tab FE, I set a routine that turns on battery saver and disables dark mode when I’m using the notes app.
I have a few routines. One turns off Wi-Fi when I’m out of range of my home network. Another opens my music app when my Bluetooth earbuds connect and starts playing music in shuffle mode. I also have two battery routines: one that activates when my battery reaches 31% and the second one at 16%. These routines limit apps and processes to save battery. I also have a ‘confirm before next action’ function to avoid going into lockdown mode by accident.
I set a routine that limits charging to 80% at night and ensures it charges to 100% by the time I’m ready to leave. It helps preserve battery life. I also have a routine that disables the lock screen when I’m connected to home Wi-Fi.
Here are my routines:
- When connected to home Wi-Fi, the phone stays unlocked, sound is on, fast charging is off, Bixby voice wake-up is on (for hands-free timer setting), auto-sync is on, and NFC is off.
- When connected to room speakers, I have separate app sounds for Reddit, YouTube, and Instagram while Spotify plays through my Bluetooth speakers.
- When opening certain apps, I max out screen timeout.
- When Wi-Fi disconnects from my home network and certain apps open, I turn on auto-rotate.
- When connected to my earbuds, I see a menu with options to open Citymapper, Spotify, or Spotify playlists.
- From sunset to sunrise, when not charging and the phone is folded, power saving is on if Wi-Fi is disconnected from my home network.
I set a geofence around the church, so my phone automatically switches to vibrate mode on Sundays without me needing to do it. I have the same for my university so I don’t miss any calls but don’t accidentally leave my phone on loud.
I set up a Bluetooth routine with my car, so whenever I connect, Spotify starts playing automatically. It’s so useful.
