I’ve been an iPhone user for a long time, but I’m tired of the poor battery life and how dull the phone feels overall. Right now, I have the iPhone 15 Pro Max, and I’m not happy with it. I use two phones, so I recently got the Nothing Phone 2a, and I’m loving Android so far.
What do you all think about the Fold 6? How’s the camera, battery, and overall performance? I’m a bit concerned about the big screen breaking—are there good screen protectors for it?
It’s a decent phone. If you’re looking for something cheaper, you might want to consider the Fold 5. If you prefer something more like an iPhone, maybe check out the Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Is there a big difference between the Fold 5 and Fold 6? I can’t get the Pixel 9 because they don’t offer support here in the UAE.
@Emerson
Not much difference, really. The Fold 6 has less curved edges and a newer chip, but the changes are small. It’s a bit thinner and slightly larger, but you’d hardly notice.

Buying a foldable phone is a bit like buying something you know won’t hold its value well. The folding screen could be an issue long term because it’s easier to damage.
That said, it’s a solid device. The cameras are good enough, and the battery life depends on which screen you’re using but lasts pretty well. Performance-wise, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip is powerful and handles everyday tasks with ease.
I almost bought the Fold 6 but ended up going for the S24 Ultra instead. If I didn’t already have a tablet, I might’ve gone for the Fold. It’s fun, but you need to take care of it. Just keep in mind the resale value might not be great down the road.

Samsung’s trade-in deals are amazing, though.
Absolutely. I traded my S24 Ultra for a Fold 6, and Samsung gave me more for the S24 than what I originally paid. I’ve been using their trade-in program for years, and it’s great for phones, watches, and earbuds.
@Jesse
Yeah, I thought about trading in my S24 Ultra for the Fold 6 since it brought the price down to around $500–$700 with their deals. But I realized I’d have to keep trading every year to get the best value. Not worth it for me, honestly.
If battery life is a priority, I recommend the S24 Ultra. I totally get where you’re coming from about the iPhone 15—my battery life has been getting worse, too.
I recently bought a Fold 6 after trading in my S24 Ultra. I wanted to try a foldable phone, and I’ve been enjoying it so far. It’s fun to use, whether folded or unfolded. I love how compact it is when folded.
To protect it, I got a Spigen case with full coverage—better safe than sorry.
The Fold 6 is a good phone, but it feels a bit narrow—kind of like holding a TV remote. If you want something wider, I’d suggest the OnePlus Open or Pixel Fold 9. I know you mentioned Pixels aren’t supported in your region, but Google might expand support soon.
If you don’t need the folding feature, you should check out the Sony Xperia 1 V—it’s packed with features.
I have the Fold 6 and can recommend it. If someone can’t type on the cover screen, maybe they have huge fingers? I don’t have small fingers, and I can type fine.
The cameras aren’t the best, but the performance and big screen make up for it. The customization options on Samsung are amazing—it’s almost overwhelming.
For me, the Fold is perfect because I’m a bit of a Samsung fan. But it’s not for everyone.
