I’m thinking about switching to a Samsung phone. I’ve had iPhones all my life, but I feel like they’re starting to feel like toys. Not sure what to go for yet or which one will last the longest. Any recommendations?
Any of the S23 or S24 models should perform similarly. No noticeable lag.
This doesn’t really seem like it fits in the right section. Maybe check the categories again.
Honestly, most phones, whether iPhone or Android, work the same in terms of basic functions. Some differences in features, but that’s about it. I personally switched to a fold phone because I like the bigger screen for reading, even though I still use Kindles. At first, I thought it would be a gimmick, but now I can’t imagine not using it. But if you think your iPhone feels like a toy, what are you expecting to get from switching to Android? iPhones last a long time, and most people who don’t care about upgrading every year seem happy with them. But if it’s just for the novelty of trying something different, it might just feel like a new toy too, and that might not last.
Don’t do it… you might regret it later.
Sounds like you’re just bored of iPhones. But keep in mind, even though both are phones, they feel different. You should try one out in person to see if you’re okay with the features before making a switch. A lot of people who switch from iPhone to Samsung tend to be bored with Apple, but unless you’ve found something you like about Samsung, you might be better off sticking with what you know.
The S23 Ultra is lightning fast and has a fantastic camera. I love mine.
I’ve never had an iPhone. Sometimes I think about getting one, but in my country, they cost about $3500 due to taxes, which just doesn’t seem worth it.

Bro, are you living on Mars? $3500 for an iPhone?! That’s insane.
@Tobin
Nah, I’m in Turkey. The taxes here are insane. The government takes more from Apple than Apple makes, so they don’t really care about supporting local production.

That’s crazy, $3500 for an iPhone is definitely not worth it. They’re easy to use, but I feel like I always have to upgrade.
@Spence
Yeah, it’s wild. The S24 Ultra is about $1700, and with Samsung promotions, you can get it for about half that price. I honestly don’t get why iPhones are so expensive here.
I’ve always been an Apple fan, had iPhones for years. I got a Mac, AirPods, and some trackers, but I got bored and switched to the S24 Ultra. I regret it and can’t wait to go back to iPhone next year. I still use my 13 Pro every day because it works so much better. The Samsung feels slow, the UI doesn’t work as smoothly, and the animations are awful. The camera only looks good in good lighting; otherwise, it looks blurry, like there’s grease on the lens. The sound quality for videos is also terrible. Apple just does everything better, and you’ll probably be disappointed with this phone.
@Hollis
Did we even use the same phone? I think you might just be used to iPhones. I don’t know what you’re talking about, but just saying.
