Just switched to the S24 after being an iPhone user… Was it worth it?

So I just got my first Samsung phone ever. I’ve had iPhones since the 3, so this is a pretty big change for me.

Honestly, I’ve been missing out. The S24 is amazing! I’m really happy with the decision, especially considering the deal my carrier gave me and the reviews from MKB and Joe Rogan.

I’m still getting used to the interface, but transferring everything wasn’t too hard. I’m having fun exploring all the features.

By the way, anyone know how to adjust the keyboard for bigger fingers? It’s a bit tricky for me.

I’m in the same boat. I switched to the S24 when it dropped after using iPhones for years. I absolutely love it.

As for the keyboard, try downloading Gboard. It makes a big difference.

Does everyone use Google’s apps or stick with the Samsung default apps for messages and calls?

@Winter
I use Google for messages and Gboard. For calls, I just stick to the Samsung default app.

@Winter
I use the Samsung apps since they work fine for me, but you can easily change the defaults if you want to.

I prefer the Samsung apps. I’m not a fan of Google’s text app, though that’s just my opinion.

I switched from a Pixel 8 Pro, and I missed the Samsung Messages and Email apps. The Pixel’s fine, but I miss Samsung a little.

@Ali
I agree, Samsung’s messaging apps are great.

@Winter
I use Samsung messages. It’s pretty good, especially in dark mode where it looks really nice.

@Winter
I think it’s all about personal preference, but I much prefer Google’s apps over Samsung’s.

@Winter
I just use regular SMS or WhatsApp. Not picky about it.

@Winter
Start with Gboard and Google Messages. Also, if you’re into customization, try Nova Launcher and the Nova Dark Icon Pack.

Here’s the link:

@Winter
I really like Textra for messages.

@Winter
Definitely go with Google Messages if you talk to a lot of iPhone users. It just makes communication easier.

Also, Samsung is rolling out AI features with Gboard and SwiftKey in their next update, so check that out if you’re into beta testing.

@Winter
Why get this phone now when the S25 is coming soon?

@Winter
A lot of people I know just switch to Google’s apps immediately. One downside with this (especially on the S24) is that you lose the AI features that come with Samsung’s apps.

The S23 also has the AI features.

@Winter
I use almost every Samsung app except for Samsung Messages. I live in a country where RCS isn’t supported. But if you like Gmail over Samsung Email, give it a try.

I switched to Gboard and it’s been so much better!

But keep in mind, Samsung Keyboard has those Galaxy AI features.

One cool thing about Android is how customizable everything is. You can pretty much change anything if you want to.
