I just got the S24 5G with 128GB today. It’s been a few hours, and it’s heating up a lot—even though I’m not doing anything intensive like gaming or long streaming. I’m just doing some work here and there, but whenever I download something or watch a few videos in a row, it heats up immediately. I hope this is just a temporary issue, as I stretched my budget for this phone.
It’s normal for a new phone to sync and download data while learning your usage patterns in the background. If you notice significant battery drain or unusual warmth when idle after a week, check which apps are consuming battery. Some apps, especially those transferred instead of freshly downloaded, can become buggy and run in the background. Uninstalling and reinstalling them from the Play Store can help.
Yes, that’s normal. I remember my phone heating up randomly for about 3 to 5 days before it settled down. I think it’s learning your usage patterns.
It takes about a week or so for the phone to learn your habits and optimize itself automatically.
Android devices typically take one to two weeks to analyze your usage patterns and optimize battery life and background processes. You can check if the analysis is complete in the battery settings; it currently shows “Learning usage patterns.” Once it’s done, your phone should perform better.
Also, if you bought the phone in Europe, it has an Exynos processor, which tends to have heat and efficiency issues compared to Snapdragon. However, the S24’s Exynos 2400 is the closest we’ve seen to Snapdragon, so it shouldn’t be that significant.
I’ve used a new S24 Ultra and an iPhone 15PM and they both significantly heated up the first day. Seems like it’s the norm now, give it a few days.
