Hello everyone,
Is it just me, or is the Samsung keyboard awful? I ended up installing a non-Samsung keyboard called Yandex from the Samsung store, and it works way better than the default one. The Samsung keyboard constantly messes up word predictions, even inserting words that don’t exist. It also doesn’t auto-capitalize the letter “I” after hitting space. It’s even worse than Gboard, which isn’t so bad. I almost installed Gboard but went with Yandex to try something new, and it’s been great so far—definitely better than Samsung’s.
I agree that the Samsung keyboard is poor. I’ve always used Gboard and decided to give the Samsung keyboard a chance with my recent switch to the S24 Ultra to test its AI features. I switched back to Gboard within a few hours.
The autocorrect on the Samsung Keyboard is terrible. It not only makes mistakes, but it also doesn’t improve even when you correct it.
Your opinion is valid, but I’ve had a different experience. Personally, I prefer the Samsung keyboard over the LG keyboard, Gboard, and SwiftKey. It allows for better layout customization and lets me disable unnecessary features like predictions. Since I type in multiple languages, predictions are often inaccurate and more of a hindrance, plus they take up valuable screen space.
I used to be a loyal Gboard user, but Samsung Keyboard won me over with its Good Lock customization, the ability to save created stickers through the Gallery app, better haptic feedback, and Galaxy AI’s grammar and writing style integration. Since switching, I haven’t gone back to Gboard on my Samsung phone. The only thing I miss is Gboard’s precise autocorrect and its ability to learn my typing style, but I can manage without it.
I’m not sure why some of you have trouble typing, but it works great for me. The customization, especially with Keys Cafe, is incredible. It’s fantastic on the Fold 6. Gboard and others are fine, but they don’t come close to the level of customization Samsung’s keyboard offers—custom keys, themes, colors, and more. The predictions may not be as strong as others, but after using it for three years, it’s more than good enough for my needs.
