My S24 Ultra battery is really weak. I used to have a 15 Plus, and the battery there lasted much longer. Even though this phone has more battery-draining features, it feels like the 5000mAh battery should last longer, but it doesn’t.
No
Don’t scare me! I’m switching from my 15 Plus to the S24U, and in comparison videos, Samsung lasts way longer. Tell me I can fix this…

Why would you buy something knowing you might have to fix it later?
@Marlowe
I haven’t seen cases like that, which is why I’m concerned.

Don’t stress, it should be fine. If you need to charge your phone, just charge it! It’s a phone, after all. Also, have you considered the S25? Maybe that’s a better option. Oh, and if your battery is weak for the first couple of weeks, that’s normal as the phone adjusts to your usage patterns.
@Marlowe
I didn’t consider the S25 because it’s too expensive here in Argentina. I’m trading in my iPhone 15 Plus (1 year old, 94% battery health) and adding $300 for the new S24U 256/12. Thanks for the tip about the battery learning usage patterns!
@Jory
No worries, it should be fine. I have one, and at first, you might feel a little concerned, but by the second week, you’ll be getting around 10 hours of battery with 100%. Make sure to set it to ‘Light’ performance mode and charge it fully to around 5-10% during the first few days.
@True
Thanks, my friend! I was really worried because I already made the deal. The 15 Plus battery lasts me a long time, but I guess it’s because of the 60Hz screen. I feel better knowing this will last at least as long. By the way, do you have any recommendations for a screen protector or case? I can’t find any reviews for what’s available around here on ML.
@Jory
Here’s an option for you
@Marlowe
Hahaha, the translator works perfectly. Thanks for your answer!
@Jory
No problem! Honestly, I didn’t worry too much about the case. I just grabbed a cheap clear case from a local shop for around 5,000 pesos. If you want to spend more, that’s up to you. About the screen protector, there aren’t many options in stock, and I feel like the anti-glare effect gets lost. I’m actually not using one right now. If you do get one, avoid the cheap hydrogel ones—they’re terrible to the touch and won’t protect the phone properly if it falls. Regarding the battery, if you’re using heavy apps like TikTok or games with 120Hz and max brightness, it’ll drain faster, but it’s still expected. I get 9-10 hours of use with a third of the brightness, ‘Light’ mode, and no issues. You’ll still be able to use 120Hz and all that.
@True
Awesome, thanks for the info! The screen protector will be tricky for me because I’m not confident about using it without one. I’ll just pick up any case. As for the usage, perfect, I don’t play games but use Instagram a lot. I saw some people lower the resolution to save battery, but I’ll try using it at the highest settings and see how it goes. Thanks for all the tips, I appreciate it!
I haven’t had any problems with mine. I think a lot of it comes down to the settings you have and the apps running in the background. You might want to check out some battery optimization videos on YouTube. It’s not as good as my old A23, but that phone barely used any battery since it ran so slow.
Try following Shino’s Ultimate Guide for Galaxy Battery. Just Google it, and you’ll find the post. There’s always the possibility of a faulty device, though. I haven’t had any issues with mine.

I saw that post. You might as well just stick to an iPhone or another brand if you have to go through all of that just to get decent battery life. It seems a bit overboard to me. Or, if you follow that guide, you might as well turn the phone off because you’ll be turning off so many features it’ll turn your flagship into an A55.
@Marlowe
I follow the guide and don’t even need to use power-saving mode. I get around 10-13 hours of screen-on time. It’s working at its best, and I didn’t have to kill any features. Maybe your device is faulty, you’re one of the few who are complaining about the battery.
@Ripley
I don’t even have an S24U, I have an S22U, but that’s just my opinion.
There are more power-saving options and settings to optimize the battery. Have you tried looking into them?
Check your apps in the battery section. It could be a bugged app draining your battery.
