I recently bought a ‘like new’ Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra on eBay for £365, which seems like a good deal to me.
I’m loving the screen, especially with it set to full resolution and refresh rate.
However, I’ve seen a lot of negative comments about this phone, which makes me consider returning it.
I’m worried about battery life because of all the comments, but I don’t think my battery is draining any faster than usual, even though I’m not a heavy user.
I switched from an OnePlus 7 Pro, which was fantastic and problem-free, but I wanted to stay up-to-date with tech. The S22 is about 2-3 years newer.
So far, the only issue is missing the alert slider .
What’s the easiest way to silence and unsilenced my phone, like for bedtime or meetings?
Thanks for listening. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Here’s my experience with the S22 Ultra: it’s incredibly durable. I’ve dropped it countless times on various surfaces, and the screen is still perfect. There are a few scratches on the edges, but the touchscreen is undamaged (I haven’t used a case because the phone is already huge).
Avoid using the maximum resolution as it drains the battery quickly. Stick with 1080p. Samsung has promised updates until 2027, so it should last a few more years. Also, try not to let the battery drain to 0. After about 20 such instances, I noticed a significant decline in battery life.
I don’t want to confuse anyone, but I believe the OnePlus 7 Pro had the best design of any smartphone. It was much slimmer than the newer models and had a full, uninterrupted screen, which I miss. However, everything about the S22 Ultra is better.
I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems like these Ultra models drain their batteries too quickly. Even though mine is brand new, it feels like it’s already been used for years. I switched from an iPhone 13, which lasted two days on its first charge, while the S24 Ultra is advertised to last a day.
My S24U now lasts a full day with heavy use (5G, gaming, etc.). I charge it before bed, unplug it when I go to sleep and don’t need to recharge until the next night. You should see battery life improve after a few days or a week.
I had that phone for 2 years before switching to the S24U. Overall, it was an AMAZING phone. The only downside for me was the battery life since we got the Exynos version (the Snapdragon version has better battery life but performs similarly). Still, the phone is solid, so I think you should keep it
Did you like the Exynos version? I have that one, and it’s terrible. I had a OnePlus 7 before this (not the Pro or T), and its photos were much better from both the front and rear cameras. My S22U has shaky, blurry photos and often lags or freezes, like when sending photos on Facebook Messenger.
Samsung is shortchanging us Europeans by using their worst processors, especially on the S22 Ultra.
Not sure if my case is isolated but my charge port broke not long after I got the s22 ultra two years ago. I’ve been having to wireless charge since and it’s considerably slower.
