Finally found a battery that actually lasts… is it too good to be true?

You might be surprised, but the s26U could have a bigger battery. Looking at your usage, you’ll probably upgrade soon.

It’s a bummer though how the s24 has such a big drop in performance, especially with the shutter lag and processing delays for photos.

@Oli
I plan on keeping this one for a while unless a really good deal pops up again.

The 5x lens is something I missed from the N20U. This phone is pretty much perfect for me now.

That 5x sensor is terrible though.

Seems like you’re really not a fan for some reason.

So just because something better exists, everything else becomes ‘trash’ now? Save some of that enthusiasm for the rest of us!

@Hale
Nah, Samsung took it out for no reason.
Oh, yeah, it’s trash.

The 10x was actually a good sensor, and they removed it for no reason. Combine that with the awful ultra-wide lens and shutter lag, plus long processing times… it’s just frustrating.

@Oli
Hey, our usernames are pretty similar!

My s22 ultra is still going strong… I’ve been on battery saving mode from the start and it still holds up for a full day.

Mine needs a recharge by late afternoon, on an average day. Screen-on time is about 4 hours, and I’m using adaptive battery mode.

Using it as a GPS on sunny days? It was painful. I’m excited to see how long this new one lasts.

The S22U is a solid phone though, aside from the processor being a bit inefficient.

@Hale
My aunt and uncle had the s22 ultra, and whenever I used it, it was super hot and the battery drained quickly. Good job with the processor, Samsung.

Same here. When I use battery saving, I can easily get a day and a half out of it, more if I’m not using it much.

I really love the transparent back on this phone.

I was thinking about making the back of my S22U transparent, but I’m not sure if it’s a good idea, especially in sunlight (like when I’m taking photos outside).

Maybe if it doesn’t break down before I use it as a secondary phone, I’ll try it!

Do you know if it’s possible?

@Sage
You can definitely do it, but it’ll be translucent because of the frosted back. The N20U has a smoother rear cover.

The color you see is just foil tape stuck inside the glass. You can peel it off with a heat gun, razor blade, and 99% isopropyl alcohol. That’ll do the trick!

My S22U convinced me that Samsung phones are just not for me. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m speaking from experience. I’m thinking of switching to an iPhone 16 Pro or trying a different brand altogether.

I’ve had several Samsung phones over the last 10 years, but the S22U is, in my opinion, the worst. The battery life is awful, and it feels super buggy compared to my old S21. I can’t wait to trade it in for the S25U.

@Sam
Really? Mine lags and stutters, and I’ve heard other Samsung phones don’t do that.
