I pay for Deepl because it’s worth it. Galaxy AI, though, is just not there yet.
Even if it gets better, I don’t think Samsung will be any more lenient with their censorship. You can’t even correct texts about sensitive topics. What’s up with that?
The fact that any company would expect us to pay for AI is laughable. It’s a fun novelty, but it’s not as essential as they make it out to be. Honestly, it’s pretty bad in many ways.
They might try, but Apple has already said they’ll charge for a ChatGPT-type integration. Samsung and Google are just waiting to see how the market reacts.
Yeah, it was never a profitable idea. They’re just trying to justify it, but no thanks. I don’t use it and don’t want it. Let’s hope we don’t get bombarded with ads about buying it later.
The idea that people will actually pay for this is a fantasy. It’s not just Samsung either. I’ve heard that Amazon is starting to charge for some Alexa features, and Google might do the same. I don’t think Apple has announced anything yet, but they’ll probably keep their services free. This could force other companies to either keep things free or drop the service altogether.
I don’t know about the bikini thing… but the image removal works for me. It’s useful sometimes, but it’s super frustrating when it refuses to do things. Like, I asked it to tone down a message that said ‘get your shit together,’ and it said it was inappropriate and refused to work.
I don’t have it on my phone since I’m using the A53, but if it does become available for mid-range phones and they charge for it? No thanks. I’ve gone my whole life without using AI tools. I can wait until Samsung puts out something that works.
It’s a shame because I’ve been using Samsung since the Galaxy Ace 2, but I really wish they’d stop copying Apple’s worst features and go back to making their own features that actually work.
I’d definitely be willing to pay for AI if it offers real benefits. But even the Apple AI ads confuse me. Summarizing emails or rewriting them in a ‘professional voice’ isn’t anything special. Saving steps is nice, but I wouldn’t pay for that.
What I’d pay for is AI that could securely access things in my life, like healthcare, email, or my calendar, and make smart decisions or track things to make my life easier. Right now, I get texts with my family’s sports schedules, and it would be amazing if AI could just add that to my calendar automatically.
It doesn’t make sense to cram AI into phones right now. It’s pretty much just a voice assistant. I have the GPT app, and it works way better and faster than the current AI on my phone. Right now, the AI feels like unnecessary bloatware that doesn’t do much.
