Are Samsung’s AI Features Really Worth Paying For?

I’m planning to grab an S24 Ultra during the Black Friday sales. I noticed that some AI features will be behind a paywall in 2025. I’m worried I might lose access to simple features like the Magic Eraser. Can anyone share what they know about this? Will those features still be free or will I need to pay extra?

Most likely, the paid features will be the ones that require expensive servers to run. On-device AI features shouldn’t be affected, though, if that’s how they handle it.

Can you think of any features that might cost extra after 2025?

No worries, it shouldn’t affect most of the features.

Maybe check out r/Galaxys25ultras, they might know more.

I didn’t realize this, thanks for bringing it up.

The Magic Eraser won’t cost extra to use. But I’ve heard rumors that the ‘circle to search’ might be affected.

If the Snapdragon 8 elite gives 8 years of software updates, then I hope they keep their promise for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. :pray:

No one is buying a Samsung flagship just for the AI features. Magic Eraser was available even before AI was a thing anyway.

I wouldn’t want to spend that much on a phone and then have to pay even more for features that should be included. That’s not unreasonable, right?

@Willow
Well, then I think you need to ask yourself… Are the AI features that important to you compared to the actual, useful features of the phone? Personally, I think the AI features are pretty useless. There are alternatives you can get from third parties anyway. I’ve only used the AI once since I got the phone in February.
