Anyone else feeling let down upgrading from the S10+ to S24 Ultra?

I’ve been using my S10+ for about 4-5 years and had no complaints. I initially got it for the blood oxygen sensor and expandable memory, but I ended up loving everything about it. The battery started to weaken, so I upgraded to the S24 Ultra last week. Now, I’m questioning if it was the right choice.

The display doesn’t feel as good as the S10+, and I lost features like the dual front cameras, the headphone jack, expandable memory, the blood oxygen sensor, and even aperture control on the lenses. The only thing I find impressive is the fingerprint sensor. I’m seriously considering selling this and buying a well-maintained S10+ instead.

I totally get where you’re coming from. Samsung’s choices lately feel like they’re taking steps backward. I also miss some older features, and even a recent software update removed the GIF maker from the edge panel, which I used all the time. What they add now feels more like flashy extras.

That said, the S10+ is no longer getting security updates, which is important to consider. Be careful if you’re looking for second-hand phones, though. Some devices might not even be genuine. Good luck!

For me, it’s losing the curved display on the Ultra that stings. I know not everyone liked it, but I did. Then they also removed the live message feature with the S Pen. That one really hurt.

If the only benefit you’re seeing is better battery life, switching back to an S10+ makes sense.

I personally love the S24 Ultra for the S Pen, the anti-reflective screen, the amazing battery life, and the 5x zoom camera.

@Hadi
Hey, I’m thinking about upgrading to the S24 Ultra. Can you tell me more about the S Pen? Is it worth it?

I know how you feel. I switched from an S10 to an S24 FE and regret it every single day :sob:.

If you don’t want the S24 Ultra, I’ll take it off your hands!

I feel the same way. I went from an S10+ to an S24+, and it’s been disappointing. The screen on my S24+ isn’t as good as the S10+, and I lost all the features you mentioned. Plus, the S24+ is bigger and bulkier. The only real upgrade is having 5G.

@Haven
My wife still uses her Note 10+ 5G, and she refused to upgrade with me. Now I think she made the right call. Half the people praising the S24 haven’t even compared the screens side by side. The S10+ screen is shockingly better in both specs and reality.

Wait, are you seriously saying the S10+ has a better screen than the S24 Ultra? How is that even possible?

The S10+ had super vivid colors that popped out, which some people love. The S24 Ultra has more natural, muted colors by default. It took me a couple of days to adjust when I switched, but now I can’t go back to the old overly vivid look.

@Nash
You can adjust the display settings to make the colors as vivid as you like. Maybe OP should try that before deciding.

If you’re comparing specs, here’s the breakdown:

S10+: 1440 x 3040 pixels, 19:9 ratio (~522 PPI density)
S24 Ultra: 1440 x 3120 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~505 PPI density)

The S10+ packs that resolution into a smaller 6.4-inch screen, while the S24 Ultra stretches it across a 6.8-inch screen. It’s not just on paper—I can see the difference side by side. Compare the Note 10+ with the S24 Ultra, and you’ll notice even more downgrades.

@Tatum
Specs don’t tell the full story. The S24 Ultra uses newer tech and is considered the best screen on the market right now. Comparing just the numbers doesn’t make sense.

@Tatum
Pixel density is just one factor in screen quality. There’s no way the S10+ screen is actually better overall.

@Tatum
Man, you’re just imagining things. The S10+ can’t compete with newer tech.

If you’re unhappy, just do it.

I kind of feel the same. I’ll probably make a post about my experience too. I still think the S24 Ultra is a great phone, but it didn’t live up to my expectations.

Snapdragon 855 vs Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. And you’re worried about what, exactly?
